Cerys (20), Newport

“In Wales there’s been a rise of youth violence and I hope to improve or impact someone’s life for the good. I would like to help people who believe that they are in a bad situation and trapped, realise that there’s always a way out, you’ve just got to find the right door. Overall, I’d like to make an impact on youth violence for the good and people’s lives, which will then hopefully lead to safer communities. ”

“Within Cardiff there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour and violence amongst young people. Through my time working with PAC I’m hoping to change this and people’s outlook on young people. As someone with prior knowledge of many of the issues young people face, I believe that my knowledge can help push the team forward to making Wales a safer place for all.”

Callum (23 ), Swansea

“My hope, by being part of PAC Cymru, is to try and improve the opportunities available to young people in the Swansea area, help improve their material conditions and to make Swansea a better place to live . It matters to me because I want young people in my area to have a voice and a platform to share their opinions and ideas to help improve their communities, while also giving them the tools and skills to help make their lives better.”

“Unfortunately, there has been an uptick in violent crime and anti-social behaviour, especially towards the LGBT+ community in Cardiff. I would like to develop the skills to make a difference and encourage people to be themselves in safety and security within Wales.

“I feel that the violence study we are currently doing will unearth a vital piece of sociological data that could help us prevent violent crime and make the UK a safer place.

“During my time at PAC I’ve met a lot of people from wildly different backgrounds, all of which have important perspectives and all of which contribute questions, angles and data areas I wouldn’t have thought to explore on my own.”
